Before and After Nose Surgery Photos 25

Revision Surgery

This patient came to see us for revision surgery. She asked us to correct a gross disfigurement from earlier surgery by another surgeon (a general surgeon not experienced in plastic rhinoplasty). The shape of her nose shows two basic errors commonly committed by inexperienced surgeons – a saddle depression caused by excessive bony dorsum removal (bone trimmed off the higher end of the bridge), and a high cartilaginous dorsum (not enough cartilage removed at the lower end of the profile). The result – a ‘polly beak’ nose tip. We performed ‘open’ approach revision surgery to lower the cartilaginous dorsum and raise the upper bony dorsum.
