Results and Revision Surgery

Approach cosmetic nose surgery with care
For the past 30 years, the Nose Clinic has achieved excellent results, a fact to which literally thousands of highly satisfied patients would attest. However, it would be misleading and irresponsible to promise that nothing can go wrong.
Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure that involves elements entirely beyond the surgeon’s control – the development of slight deviations in scar tissue, for example. In such exceptional cases, the Nose Clinic will re-admit the patient for a minor procedure after the nose has healed, usually 12 months after the first surgery. The surgeon will not charge a fee for this revision, although the patient will be responsible for the attendant theatre costs. If the surgeon considers the risk of additional abnormal scar tissue formation and further disappointment too high, he will advise the patient not to undergo further surgery.
In isolated cases where a patient contributed to a less than perfect result through neglect, a careless accident or excessive rubbing, the Nose Clinic will consider revision surgery at the patient’s own cost, if in the surgeon’s opinion, further surgery is likely to achieve the desired result.
We also offer complex, demanding and sometimes costly Revision Surgery to correct the disappointing results of surgery done elsewhere by other surgeons. These unhappy results are often caused by diagnostic and procedural errors that either seriously impair the patient’s breathing or spoil the result of the cosmetic refinement. Revisions of this kind account for some 43% of the Nose Clinic’s consultations.
