Expert Surgeon: Dr. Pieter Swanepoel

Dr Pieter F Swanepoel, the Nose Clinic’s specialist surgeon, is one of the only surgeons in the world – a rare breed – dedicated exclusively to the practice, science and art of visio-spatial nose surgery; a specialisation that combines aesthetic cosmetic technique with functional and complex revision surgery. Working with the backing and expertise of the Nose Clinic’s specialist team, he pioneered and developed several world-first techniques for nose surgery and nasal anaesthetics. These techniques have become a ‘Gold Standard’ for the profession and thousands of patients around the world.

Over more than 30 years, focused on his speciality, Dr Swanepoel has performed more than 19 000 nasal procedures. He lectures on rhinoplasty in South Africa and has presented papers to the prestigious American Academy of Facial, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He’s also published a number of papers on functional rhinoplasty and cosmetic rhinoplasty technique in professional journals. Recognised by as an expert on Rhinoplasty, he often mentors visiting specialist surgeons on the anatomical intricacies of nasal surgery.
